Howdy! My name is Rob Hammel and I am new to Didsbury High School this year. I am the guidance counselor and also teach Chemistry. I started my career in CESD at Hugh Sutherland School in Carstairs, but spent the last 6 years at Hunting Hills High School in Red Deer - ending up as the Math department head.
I am married to another CESD teacher. We live on an acreage north of town and have 2 lovely daughters - Grade 9 and Grade 7, and a menagerie of animals. In June of 2025, I retired from a 25+ year career in the Canadian Army Reserve, ending at the rank of Major, with operational deployments to Bosnia (2003) and Afghanistan (2009).
