Rob Hammel

I am 46 years old and am married (to another teacher in CESD) and have 2 daughters (Grade 9 and 7). We live between Didsbury and Olds, just south of the gas plant and own a berry farm. I started my teaching career in CESD but have spent the last 6 years at Hunting Hills High School in Red Deer Public, ending as the math department head. I have also just retired from a full career in the Canadian Army Reserve, with deployments to Bosnia (2003) and Afghanistan (2009), retiring at the rank of Major. In 2021, I suffered a major illness, and spent 5 months on kidney dialysis and almost a year of work. I've been working full-time for almost 3 years now.

 

I am thrilled to join the Didsbury team and am looking forward to working with the staff and getting to know the students.
